Thank-you Haiti Run Runner - from CFCH
Here is the email message from Foundation for the Children of Haitii (30/01/2010):
Hello Janice,
I received your donations yesterday.
Thanks to all of the people at Runners of Compassion for your concern for Haiti.
Your support is greatly appreciated and will make a difference in Haiti.
Please pass on my thanks to all those who participated in the run.
(What a great idea... a running club with a heart for the community. Wonderful!)
We are posting updates of the Foundation's work in Port au Prince on our website - www.cfchcanada.ca. As you may have heard, the Foundation's children and staff are OK, and 3 of our 4 facilities were spared any major damage. The hospital - Hope Hospital - is very actively involved in providing care for those injured in the quake.
I've attached a few pictures to give you an idea of our facilities in Haiti.
Thanks again,
Thad Newman
CFCH
PS I will send receipts to the donors.

"Since 1981, Le Fondation pour les Enfants d'Haiti (FEH) in Port au Prince, Haiti has been working to change the lives of needy children, by replacing poverty and despair with love, health and hope."
CFCH is a Registered Canadian Charitable Organization. Donations to support the work are tax deductible in Canada.
One of the CFCH's guiding principles is that resources will, to the greatest extent possible, be made available directly for the children cared for by FEH. CFCH has very limited administrative overhead, mainly confined to corresponding with donors. Our administrative expenses run about 1% to 2% of total donations. CFCH does not expend any funds for advertising or promotion, nor has it ever done so.

"Sending relief shipments off to third world countries is keeping Dell Marie Wergeland rather busy these days. Wergeland volunteers as the coordinator of the Compassionate Resource Warehouse, located on Devonshire Road. For the last couple of years, Wergeland, and about 30 volunteers, have been collecting everything from school supplies to medical supplies and shipping it all off to the less advantaged of the third World.
"The office in the warehouse is covered with pictures of people in far away places, including a young disabled Haitian girl. The images show the recipients of the assistance made possible by the local humanitarian organiztion.
"Those are just some of the pictures. It really gets you going - you see the need," says Wergeland.
