ROC member Susan Peach invites all runners, as well as their friends and family, to join the Soul Sister Studio staff and students on Friday, March 2nd for a hugely fun evening in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Fit for Heart is an annual fundraiser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Susan is especially keen to be involved this year as Ken Pungenti, the runner who suffered a heart attack at the Cedar 12k, is a close family friend. Although this isn't a running event, Susan is hoping that members of ROC may want to come out for a little lighthearted cross training in support of Ken's recovery. Here are the basic details, more info is available atwww.soulsister.ca or by calling 754-7090.
When: Friday, March 2nd, 7-9 pm
Where: Soul Sister Studio, 210 4th St. (in Harewood at 4th and Bruce, parking at both front and back)
Who: Everyone, even the men folk (we're a women's only facility so this is a rarity....don't miss it guys!)
What to Bring: A pocketful of loonies, money for the chocolate bake sale (also bring a chocolate dessert donation if you like), a fun attitude.
What's Up:
7-8 pm Pole Dance Trivia
Join us for this wacky game that will challenge your knowledge of fitness pole dancing in ways you never imagined. Or join the studio audience and just watch the fun unfold. A fabulous prize to the winner, and good fun for all.
8-9 pm Hoop for Heart
Ante up a loonie to get a hoop, then try to keep up with the antics of our instructor and a dozen other fellow hoopers. The more hoops that fall, the more money is raised, since you'll have to kick in another buck every time you pick up a hoop.
7-9 pm Chocolate Dessert Contest and Bake Sale
We all know that dark chocolate is a heart healthy food, so bring your best chocolate dessert creation for a chance to win a prize. Or shop for a delicious dessert at the bake sale, with all the proceeds going to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
If you can't make it to the event but would like to show your support, Soul Sister Studio will also accept cash donations on behalf of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, with tax receipts available. Susan will be glad to accept your donation at the studio, at the Saturday morning runs, or online at the following secure page:
